Senior QA Automation Engineer (Java)

hirify.global is hiring for a project with a UK-based fintech company developing secure, scalable payment gateway solutions for African markets.

What you will do

• Participate in product and engineering discussions from the first draft of an epic and define how features will be tested.
• Design structured test cases covering happy paths, edge cases, and failure modes.
• Automate UI and API tests in the shared Java-based QA framework and support its maintenance.
• Test features in on-demand environments and developer demos before code review.
• Investigate logs and data with AI coding assistants, identify bugs, and maintain regression coverage.
• Support CI test gates and release management, including regression checks and go/no-go decisions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of QA experience with hands-on Java test automation.
• Experience building and maintaining automated UI and API tests.
• Ability to understand application code and work with CI/CD pipelines, test integration, and fail-closed configurations.
• Daily experience using AI coding assistants for test automation, maintenance, and investigation, with ownership of the results.
• English at least B2 level, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Product engineering mindset, proactive risk identification, independent work habits, and effective collaboration with developers and product managers.
