Test Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Wallops Island, Virginia, United States; full-time, on-site work required for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2027.

Salary: $25 USD per hour in Virginia.

What you will do

• Work alongside the flight operations crew during live test and launch operations.
• Improve tools and procedures to make operations more efficient, repeatable, and safe.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve practical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with mentors, supervisors, and department employees while providing progress updates.
• Develop technical and professional skills through hands-on work, technical talks, and intern events.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in engineering or physics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Ability to work full-time on site in Wallops Island for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
• For work in U.S. offices, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, qualifying refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Experience with scripting or automation of sequences and processes.
• Proficiency in Python, 3D printing, CAD/CAM, or Siemens NX.
