Sample Submission Specialist (Laboratory Operations)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite laboratory role.

What you will do

• Receive, unbox, label, verify, log, organize, and route incoming samples.
• Maintain accurate sample traceability from receipt through the start of testing using computerized tracking systems.
• Maintain sample release logs and dispose of samples and packaging according to laboratory waste procedures.
• Follow SOPs, laboratory protocols, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain clean, organized sample receiving and verification areas, including inventory restocking and general housekeeping.
• Handle administrative tasks and routine correspondence with clients and internal teams regarding sample inquiries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to three years of customer service experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including telephone and in-person communication.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, self-starting, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Entry-level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the internet.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or sit at a computer for extended periods.

Nice to have

• College or associate degree, bachelor’s degree, technical training, or CPhT certification.
• Pharmacy technician certification.
