Principal Country HR Partner - Fixed Term

Location: Madrid, Spain; office-first culture with three days a week in the office for most roles

What you will do

• Lead HR strategy and day-to-day HR operations for the Madrid site and Spain employee population.
• Advise local leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, retention, and organizational change.
• Translate global People strategies into legally compliant and culturally relevant execution in Spain.
• Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary cases, grievances, restructures, sensitive exits, and SMAC conciliation proceedings.
• Own Spain labor and statutory compliance, including employment documentation, policy localization, working time, leave, separations, audits, and the Equality Plan.
• Use HR analytics to assess organizational health and compliance risk, and mentor the current senior HR country leader and local team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; an advanced degree in HR, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of Spanish employment law, labor practices, statutory compliance, and employee relations frameworks is required.
• Experience leading Equality Plan design, implementation, governance, and related compliance initiatives in Spain is required.
• 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior HR leadership, HRBP, country HR, or director-level roles.
• Experience leading HR for one or more offices, complex employee relations cases, investigations, restructures, sensitive exits, and legally informed decisions.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Experience with HRIS and reporting tools, especially Workday, is strongly preferred.
