Senior Software Engineer (C#/.NET)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support the VAaAST variant analysis platform for interpretation, reporting, and laboratory workflows.
• Build production software across the database, backend services and APIs, and front-end UI.
• Shape architecture and system design for a new greenfield initiative.
• Implement reliable handling for network- and file-intensive operations, including retries, recovery, structured logging, error handling, and alerting.
• Develop secure, scalable, maintainable integrations and support platform growth and modernization.
• Review code, promote engineering standards, and mentor other developers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including recent hands-on work with C#/.NET.
• Full-stack experience across databases, backend services/APIs, and modern front-end applications.
• Experience with Vue.js/PrimeVue or equivalent modern front-end frameworks, state management, component-based architecture, and data-flow patterns.
• Strong SQL and database design skills, including stored procedures, CTEs, indexing, constraints, derived values, and schema design.
• Experience with Git/Azure DevOps, Jira/Confluence, code reviews, technical design, architecture discussions, and developer mentorship.
• Ability to deliver secure, scalable production software and apply coding standards and design patterns.

Nice to have

• Experience with platform integrations, APIs, messaging, data exchange, and troubleshooting across environments.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated deployments, unit testing, production releases, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with observability tools such as Application Insights, Datadog, or ELK.
• Experience with laboratory or clinical platforms, including LIMS, variant analysis, order and result routing, or digital pathology systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, secure development, regulatory requirements such as CAP/CLIA and 21 CFR Part 11, and technical debt reduction.
