What you will do
- Own the game's overall performance area and drive performance analysis and optimization across the project.
- Balance visual quality and performance for the target platform.
- Define, establish, and communicate performance budgets across relevant game areas.
- Develop or request tools for performance tracking, profiling, and analysis.
- Use telemetry data to identify performance trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Profile and investigate in-game performance while collaborating with Rendering and Systems teams.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in the games industry.
- Proven experience identifying bottlenecks, debugging, profiling, and optimizing game content for CPU, GPU, and memory.
- Deep understanding of game engine pipelines and graphics and rendering principles.
- Strong scripting skills with Python.
- Comfort reading and navigating C++ codebases.
- Familiarity with HLSL or a similar shading language and an interest in shader development.
