Senior Staff Software Engineer (Security Engineering)

Salary: $232,000–$313,000 USD annually, plus potential performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

• Identify and address critical security gaps across infrastructure and services.
• Define the vision and strategy for security engineering within Trust & Safety.
• Represent the security engineering discipline and promote data-driven security decisions across the organization.
• Lead initiatives across functional and organizational boundaries.
• Attract top security engineering talent.
• Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience in data security or related areas.
• Expertise in at least two areas including cryptography, Kubernetes security, web security, governance, privacy, authentication, identity management, access control, key management, inter-service authentication, secure application frameworks, or detection and response.
• 15+ years of experience building highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
• Leadership experience across functional and organizational boundaries, with strong communication skills for senior stakeholders.
• Bias toward action and a commitment to high-quality solutions.
• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
