What you will do
- Manage accounting professionals responsible for general ledger accounting and financial reporting across multiple EMEA entities.
- Oversee monthly close activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet reviews, payment review, and core accounting operations.
- Coordinate statutory audits, local auditors, tax advisors, regulators, and the US Group audit process.
- Ensure accurate and timely statutory financial statements under local GAAP and IFRS requirements.
- Set priorities, allocate workloads, coach team members, and build cross-training and coverage plans.
- Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, corporate accounting, and other departments on reporting, compliance, ERP initiatives, transitions, restructurings, and M&A integration accounting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including work in a multi-country or shared-services EMEA environment.
- Strong knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and local GAAP/IFRS across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for collaboration across cultures and time zones.
- Experience with ERP and financial systems, preferably NetSuite, and strong Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, judgment, and confidentiality-handling skills.
Nice to have
- Bulgarian Certified Public Accountant designation, ACCA, or an equivalent recognized accounting qualification.
- Advanced degree.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience supporting a US-based group audit.
- Additional European languages.
