Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Economics

Location: Auckland City Campus, Auckland, New Zealand; flexible employment practices include working from home and flexible hours.

Salary: NZD 99,788–119,204 for Lecturer and NZD 126,800–158,900 for Senior Lecturer, per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Develop a research program that complements the Department’s existing strengths.
• Teach economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a specialist area and at introductory levels more broadly.
• Publish research in leading international peer-reviewed journals.
• Supervise research students and contribute to doctoral education.
• Seek research funding and engage with academic, professional, industry, government, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to departmental service and collaborate on teaching and research within and beyond the Department.

Requirements

• PhD in economics or a related field, or near completion.
• Strong research potential and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality research-informed teaching.
• Research expertise in any economics field; particular interest in theoretical or applied econometrics and international trade.
• Ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Commitment to research, publication, student supervision, funding development, and academic collaboration.
