Senior Software Engineer (LINE API / LIFF App)

Location: Japan; primarily remote from home with occasional in-office meetings or team gatherings in Japan. The role requires working from 6:00 AM JST Tuesday through Friday to overlap with U.S.-based colleagues; Mondays follow standard local working hours.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize LINE messaging services and applications on AWS.
• Develop LINE MINI Apps, messaging workflows, and new product features that create revenue streams.
• Build internal tools and integrations for global clients.
• Translate business requirements and user pain points into robust technical specifications.
• Understand and integrate with the existing advertising platform architecture.
• Improve ecosystem components for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep hands-on experience with the LINE Messaging API, LIFF, LINE MINI Apps, LINE SDKs, and LINE Login/authentication flows.
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with experience designing REST APIs and running Docker applications on AWS or GCP in Linux environments.
• Experience with object-oriented design, concurrency, distributed systems, algorithms, data structures, and relational or large-scale data stores.
• Business-level Japanese and English, both spoken and written.

• Experience with additional LINE APIs.
