Software Development Engineer III - Loyalty (AI)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States

Salary: $146,000–$204,500 total cash annually, with potential increases up to $233,500 based on sustained performance.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack software across frontend and backend components.
• Own complex loyalty features from technical design through implementation, deployment, and operational support.
• Design APIs, data models, services, and distributed systems spanning multiple engineering teams.
• Translate product and business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled capabilities and agentic systems in production.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and platform leaders to improve traveler engagement and loyalty.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience.
• Production experience building, testing, deploying, and operating full-stack applications.
• Proficiency in low-level system design, API design, data modeling, testing, debugging, and version control.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, workflows, and AI/ML concepts.
• Strong frontend experience with React and TypeScript; working proficiency with Java or Node backend services is preferred.

• Experience delivering reliable, observable, and performant full-stack systems at scale.
• Experience leading architecture and technical decisions across services.
• Experience using operational metrics, experimentation, and production insights to improve performance.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor.
