Staff Software Engineer (IAM)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States

Salary: $181,300–$261,000 USD annually, plus potential annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Identify and address critical security gaps across infrastructure and services.
• Define the vision and strategy for identity and access management within Security Engineering.
• Represent the security engineering discipline and promote data-driven security decisions across the organization.
• Lead across functional and organizational boundaries to deliver high-quality security solutions.
• Attract security engineering talent and represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data security or related areas.
• 10+ years of experience building large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
• Expertise in at least two areas including cryptography, Kubernetes security, web security, governance, privacy, trust and safety, authentication, identity management, access control, key management, inter-service authentication, secure application frameworks, or detection and response.
• Leadership experience across functional and organizational lines, with strong communication skills for engaging senior leaders.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
