Telecommunications Engineer (Avaya)

Location: Newport, Rhode Island, United States; no remote or telework allowed. Some travel may be required within the United States and internationally, approximately 5%.

Salary: $60,750.38–$105,633.13 annually.

What you will do

• Design, operate, and support carrier-class telecommunications and voice communication systems.
• Support cloud-based communications, including enterprise voice, messaging, meetings, conferencing, and collaboration services.
• Monitor 24x7 telecommunications infrastructure and conduct trend analysis to identify performance issues.
• Prepare engineering studies, technical reports, equipment specifications, system documentation, and drawings.
• Evaluate telecommunications requirements, recommend equipment and system modifications, and resolve technical problems.
• Conduct technical field surveys and evaluate equipment for compliance with DISA specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma and 6–8 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Avaya Aura Communication Manager 8 or higher, Avaya Unified Communication products, and Avaya G450 Gateways.
• One required Avaya certification: ACSA, ACSS, or ACIS.
• CompTIA Security+ certification and experience with cybersecurity configurations and security implementation tools.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and a United States passport; an active passport is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with VoIP phone systems and network-based telephone equipment.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Military or government experience.
