OrioleDB Deployment Engineer

Supabase is an open-source Postgres development platform providing integrated database, authentication, storage, edge functions, realtime, and vector search services.

What you will do

• Package OrioleDB software in the supabase/postgres repository using Nix and flakes.
• Manage OrioleDB release lifecycles, including major, minor, and extension upgrades.
• Expand platform release systems and developer self-service capabilities.
• Optimize CI/CD, GitHub Actions, testing, and release tooling.
• Identify and resolve production issues in customer deployments while reducing deployment risks.
• Co-own the integration of OrioleDB into the Supabase product and mentor engineers on Nix-based development.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, extensions, and performance optimization.
• Infrastructure expertise with management, tooling, and optimization.
• Proficiency with Nix and flakes, Ansible, Packer, Docker, QEMU/KVM, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building for Linux and Darwin/macOS aarch64 targets and working in C/C++, Go, JavaScript, and Rust environments.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including customers.
• Experience working in asynchronous or globally distributed teams and solving problems independently.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating emerging features into widely used managed hosted platforms.
• Experience mentoring engineers on Nix-based workflows.
