What you will do
- Prepare artwork for print by managing file setup, color, resolution, bleed, trim, overprint, and separations.
- Design masks, channels, and effect layers for selective gloss, varnish, metallic and holographic under-prints, textures, and glow-in-the-dark finishes.
- Retouch artwork details, correct edges, contrast, and color while preserving the artistβs intent.
- Prepare, evaluate, and iterate physical print samples until the finish is approved.
- Work directly with Print Technicians, R&D, and production teams to diagnose print results and improve files.
- Maintain clean production files, naming conventions, documentation, and shared Design Studio standards.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience designing for print or manufactured physical products, with produced work in a portfolio.
- Working knowledge of print color modes and profiles, resolution, bleed, trim, overprint, and separations.
- Basic understanding of print finishing techniques such as spot varnish, foil, hot stamping, embossing, metallic and holographic layers, textures, and special effects.
- Confident use of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator; InDesign and Acrobat as needed.
- Precision, patience, and the ability to communicate technical file and printing issues to production staff.
- Usable English for daily internal communication and the ability to work at the Marki site every working day.
Nice to have
- Experience working with production teams, print technicians, or a print house.
- Familiarity with sublimation, UV, or digital printing techniques.
