TL;DR
Project Manager (High-Voltage Substations) (Electrical Engineering/AIS): Developing primary electrical designs and technical solutions for high-voltage substation projects with an accent on one-line diagrams, grounding, equipment selection, and customer-focused proposal engineering. Focus on reviewing manufacturer documentation, performing electrical calculations, coordinating interdisciplinary approvals, and resolving design challenges during project execution.

Location: Hybrid in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

What you will do

  • Propose technically viable, innovative, and competitive substation solutions tailored to customer requirements during the bidding phase.
  • Develop project design criteria, main and station auxiliary one-line diagrams, grounding drawings, and substation layouts.
  • Prepare bills of materials and perform cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station auxiliary load calculations.
  • Review and approve manufacturer documentation and support the selection of transformers, breakers, disconnectors, voltage transformers, and related equipment.
  • Participate in meetings with providers, customers, and internal project teams to secure approval for electromechanical engineering.

Requirements

  • Electrical or electromechanical engineering degree with at least five years of experience in primary electrical design for high-voltage substations, especially AIS technology.
  • Experience with equipment typically used in substations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit.
  • Knowledge of ANSI and IEC standards.
  • Strong communication, technical, teamwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Conversational English proficiency and willingness to travel up to 10% are required.
