Location: Onsite at a client site in Germantown Hills, Illinois, United States; Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m.

Salary: USD 19.81–26.74 per hour

What you will do

• Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy and other laboratory specimen collections.
• Process, label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze and package specimens for transport.
• Review physician orders and enter laboratory tests accurately in multiple systems.
• Verify test-result receipt, retrieve patient information and complete laboratory reception and clerical duties.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures, quality-control records, equipment and supply inventory.
• Communicate specimen-related issues and outstanding draws, charges or results to laboratory and clinical staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nationally recognized phlebotomy certification, phlebotomy training, at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience, or CMA certification.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
• Patient communication, customer service, teamwork and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to follow safety, biohazard-waste, regulatory and accreditation procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience with diverse patient types and laboratory specimen processing.
• Experience transferring specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
