TL;DR
Observability Engineer (Splunk): Managing and extending Splunk Observability Cloud and Splunk Cloud platforms for logs, metrics, and traces with an accent on OpenTelemetry, AWS, Linux, and PCI DSS compliance. Focus on designing Python integrations, building dashboards and alerts, and improving observability across systems through cross-functional collaboration.
Location: Bangkok, Thailand. The position requires flexibility to accommodate time zone differences during global collaboration.

What you will do
- Manage, maintain, and optimize Splunk Observability Cloud and Splunk Cloud platforms for log management.
- Deploy and configure OpenTelemetry Collectors for metrics and traces, along with Splunk forwarders for log ingestion.
- Build dashboards, detectors, alerts, and integrations with internal data sources in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Develop Python applications, add-ons, and custom integrations to extend Splunk capabilities.
- Provide user support and training on observability practices and Splunk solutions.
- Act as an observability subject matter expert and evaluate complementary tools such as ELK and Grafana.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in observability or monitoring engineering.
- Proven experience with Splunk Observability Cloud, including Infrastructure Monitoring, APM, Log Observer, and Splunk Cloud Log.
- Experience deploying and configuring OpenTelemetry Collectors, plus familiarity with ELK Stack, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Experience with AWS logging and storage services and strong knowledge of Linux in on-premise and cloud environments.
- Technical expertise with Splunk Enterprise Cloud, AWS Cloud, Linux, GitLab, Jira/Confluence, and ServiceNow.

- Splunk O11y Cloud Certified Metrics User certification.
- Splunk Cloud Certified Architect certification.
