TL;DR
Country Communications Leader (Internal/External Communications): Developing and executing country communication strategies across internal communications, proactive earned media, issues communications, and localized messaging with an accent on cultural adaptation, regulatory compliance, and multilingual content. Focus on coordinating crisis communications, supporting executives and country leaders, managing media engagement, and translating global messaging for local audiences.
Location: Hybrid role in Bucharest, Romania, with in-person collaboration prioritized.

What you will do
- Develop and execute internal, external, and issues communications aligned with global corporate narratives and local requirements.
- Organize and facilitate country leader town halls, employee announcements, policy updates, and organizational communications.
- Build proactive earned-media strategies, prepare press materials, respond to media queries, and support positive local coverage.
- Coordinate stakeholder communications during crises with HR, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, business leaders, and crisis management teams.
- Support executive communications, media interviews, local events, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Adapt and translate global communications for local language and cultural context, including materials related to works councils, unions, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a similar role.
- Experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong strategic communication planning, execution, writing, and cultural adaptation skills.
- Fluency in English and French is required.
- Ability to stay current with industry knowledge and technology.
Nice to have
- Dutch or other languages, especially Eastern European languages.
- Experience in crisis communications.
- Familiarity with European labor laws and works council processes.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications in internal communications or change management.
