Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Database Reliability)

Location: Tallinn, Estonia. Workplace: On-site, with a hybrid model requiring at least 12 in-office days per month.

What you will do

• Lead the design, automation, implementation, and maintenance of reliable, scalable database infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical infrastructure and resolve incidents in a no-blame environment.
• Perform root cause analysis, lead incident response, prepare postmortems, and implement preventive measures.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across database configurations, SQL queries, and indexes.
• Partner with engineering teams on schema design, query reviews, and database best practices.
• Enforce security controls, manage access, and support data governance and industry compliance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in systems engineering and site reliability engineering.
• Strong experience with relational database management systems, such as MySQL.
• Advanced Linux troubleshooting skills covering networking, file systems, security, and the kernel.
• Solid understanding of large-scale distributed systems and proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or Bash.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and infrastructure automation tools including Terraform and Ansible.
• Understanding of DevOps practices, Agile ways of working, and strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of NewSQL and NoSQL databases.
