Senior Software & AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Rehovot, Israel

hirify.global develops materials science, semiconductor, metrology, inspection, and advanced display solutions. The Rehovot R&D organization develops machine learning and computer vision-based products for wafer fabrication.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, design, and implementation of software for automated calibration workflows in advanced electron microscope columns.
• Build full-stack services spanning concurrent hardware-control loops, distributed backend services, and operator-facing user interfaces.
• Research, implement, validate, document, and optimize numerical algorithms, computer vision workflows, and real-time image processing.
• Apply data science methods to real measurement data, design experiments, and quantify system performance.
• Develop AI infrastructure for physics-informed agents, tools, context engineering, and evaluation pipelines.
• Build hardware simulation, monitoring, and automated testing tools while collaborating with physicists, Product, Design, and R&D teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience and 2+ years of R&D experience in algorithms or machine learning.
• Deep expertise in concurrency, parallelism, multi-threaded dispatchers, failure modes, and performance under load.
• Strong system design experience with microservices, distributed systems, APIs, message queues, or event streaming.
• Knowledge of numerical algorithms, optimization, image processing, hardware control, or instrumentation software.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents, including prompt and context engineering, tool calling, retrieval, and evaluation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience; experience with testing, CI/CD, Docker, and code review.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Background in computational physics, applied mathematics, optics, microscopy, signal processing, or numerical analysis.
• Experience with electron microscopy, semiconductor equipment, advanced performance profiling, or optimization.
• Experience with advanced concurrency models in C++, Java, Kotlin, Go, or Rust.
