Location: Accra, Ghana; the position is based in the Regional Office for Africa

What you will do
- Support the implementation of ’s Strategy on Climate Change and its Action Plan in Africa.
- Provide technical support for climate action projects and programmes in agrifood systems at regional and national levels.
- Analyse public and private climate and environmental finance relevant to agriculture and rural development.
- Contribute to tools and approaches for NDC implementation, climate-resilient investments, carbon markets, loss and damage, and energy transitions.
- Develop technical documents, reports, training materials, and knowledge products.
- Support partnerships, resource mobilization, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and consultations with governments, donors, civil society, academia, and the private sector.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in climate change, environmental engineering or sciences, natural resources management, agriculture and forestry with a climate change focus, biological sciences, or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience in climate change mitigation or adaptation projects, preferably related to agrifood systems.
- English at proficiency level C and intermediate knowledge at level B of at least one additional official language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish.
- Knowledge of climate finance, carbon markets, climate and environmental investments, and agricultural food systems.
- Ability to analyse policy and governance structures related to complex climate and natural resource management issues.
- Applicants should be 32 years old or younger as of 31 December of the year of application.
Nice to have
- Intermediate knowledge of French.
- Experience working in more than one location or area, particularly in field positions.
- Experience establishing partnerships with UN agencies, NGOs, private sector organizations, donors, and government institutions.
