Legal Manager / Assistant Manager (AI Governance)

What you will do

• Lead legal matters for Singapore-based business and operational functions.
• Advise internal stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region on corporate, commercial, compliance, privacy, technology, and AI governance matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and corporate agreements and advise on associated rights and liabilities.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and support regional privacy management frameworks.
• Assess compliance risks and support training, policy implementation, reviews, audits, and internal investigations.
• Lead and supervise junior team members while coordinating with hirify.global legal colleagues and external counsel.

Requirements

• LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore or a recognized university in a common Asia Pacific law jurisdiction.
• Qualified lawyer with post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial legal work.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in legal, compliance, and privacy advisory work, preferably in-house.
• Strong knowledge of commercial, corporate, consumer, privacy, compliance, and technology-related laws in Singapore or other Asia Pacific jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead junior members and provide practical, business-oriented guidance.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Experience in electronics hardware, software, data, or retail businesses.
• Data protection certification such as CIPP or CIPM.
• Experience in AI governance and working across different Asia Pacific cultures.
