Chief Accountant - Fluent in English

Location: Onsite in Almaty, Kazakhstan

What you will do

• Lead accounting operations and governance across Kazakhstan and the CIS region.
• Manage accounting teams covering payments, assets, general accounting, and tax.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, reconciliations, financial statements, and statutory reporting.
• Manage tax filings, regulatory compliance, audits, and coordination with consultants and authorities.
• Strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties, risk management, and approval processes.
• Partner with Finance, Treasury, Operations, Procurement, Legal, and external stakeholders on regional finance matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• More than 6 years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
• Experience with multi-entity or regional operations and ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong leadership, analytical, process improvement, and stakeholder management skills.
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Chief Accountant certification or an equivalent qualification.
