TL;DR
Financial Controller, Local (Financial Accounting/VAT): Preparing Finnish statutory accounting, VAT compliance, Intrastat and regulatory reporting for four Finnish companies with an accent on tax accuracy, reconciliations, and fixed-asset accounting. Focus on managing deadline-driven reporting, handling Finnish and foreign VAT registrations, and coordinating accounting tasks in an international environment.

Location: Hyvinkää, Finland; hybrid remote work is possible by agreement.

What you will do

  • Prepare Finnish and foreign VAT registrations, compliance work, and VAT reconciliations.
  • Prepare Intrastat reports and other mandatory regulatory reporting.
  • Manage fixed-asset accounting tasks.
  • Support additional financial accounting activities for four Finnish legal entities.
  • Collaborate with a six-person Finnish financial accounting team.

Requirements

  • Education in financial accounting and at least a few years of experience in financial roles.
  • Knowledge of basic VAT matters in an international environment.
  • Fluent use of Office software, particularly Excel.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, deadline management, flexibility, initiative, and accountability.
  • Proficiency in English and Finnish.
  • Positive attitude, service orientation, and strong teamwork skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of foreign VAT registration and income taxation.
  • Expertise in Intrastat reporting.
  • SAP and OneStream skills.
  • Familiarity with IFRS/FAS.
  • Experience in a large international corporation.
