TL;DR
Head of Operational Support (Humanitarian Operations): Integrating operational support across HR, risk and compliance, humanitarian access and safety, finance, ICT, logistics, and administration in East and Southern Africa with an accent on country-office accountability and operational standards. Focus on advising country teams, building support capacity, streamlining regional-office hosting arrangements, and leading crisis management activities when required.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya; full-time duty station with a two-year contract.

What you will do
- Ensure efficient, integrated support functions across the regional team.
- Hold country offices accountable for operational progress using reports, analysis and compliance data.
- Advise country directors, heads of support and Humanitarian Access and Safety managers on operational challenges.
- Provide mentorship, capacity building and skills development for operational support teams.
- Participate in global planning and strategy discussions for support functions.
- Coordinate finance, HR and logistics requirements for regional grants and streamline hosting arrangements in the Nairobi regional office.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant leadership or management experience in the humanitarian field.
- Higher education in business administration, management, finance or a related field.
- Experience managing finance, HR and logistics support functions; security and safety experience is an advantage.
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, including organisational change, start-up or exit processes.
- Demonstrated results in operational support and the ability to collaborate with remote teams and stakeholders.
- Fluent English, written and verbal, is required.
