Staff Engineer, Public Cloud Operations

Location: Singapore, Singapore. Applicants must have current right to work in Singapore and must not require visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Plan, deploy, monitor, and maintain AWS and Alibaba Cloud services across compute, storage, networking, and serverless platforms.
• Design highly available, auto-scaling hybrid cloud architectures and optimize network, storage, and compute configurations.
• Implement full-stack monitoring and alerting with CloudWatch, CloudMonitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Lead critical incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive remediation for infrastructure and network issues.
• Optimize cloud costs through reserved instances, auto-scaling, storage lifecycle policies, and quota management.
• Implement cloud security baselines, access controls, audits, vulnerability remediation, and operational documentation while collaborating with development and security teams.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of core compute, storage, networking, and security services on AWS or Alibaba Cloud, with familiarity with the other platform.
• Proficiency in Linux or Windows operations and automation with Shell, Python, or Ansible.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, ACK, and cloud-native technologies such as service mesh.
• At least 5 years of operations experience, including 3 years in public cloud environments managing 100 or more instances.
• Experience leading and collaborating with operations, development, testing, and security teams.
• Current Singapore work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience building cloud platforms, designing hybrid cloud architectures, or delivering large-scale migrations.
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Alibaba Cloud ACP/ACE certification.
• Experience with multi-cloud management, FinOps, WAF, DDoS protection, or cloud security practices.
• Exposure to big data or AI operations, including MaxCompute or EMR.
