Director - MQ L&D Small Molecule and Central Functions (AI)

Location: Speke, UK; on-site work preferred, with a hybrid work environment possible. Travel: 30%, mainly in the EU.

What you will do

• Define and lead the learning strategy and transformation roadmap across the Small Molecule Manufacturing & Quality network.
• Lead and develop MQ L&D resources, ensuring accountability and collaboration across manufacturing sites.
• Translate business and site needs into scalable learning solutions supporting performance, compliance, onboarding, leadership readiness, and continuous capability development.
• Harmonize and optimize learning processes in partnership with Global L&D and MQ leadership.
• Drive live, virtual, on-demand, blended, and digital learning, including LMS optimization, AI-enabled learning, analytics, and VR/AR technologies.
• Establish learning KPIs, dashboards, and analytics while managing cross-functional initiatives, vendors, budgets, and timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing site roles.
• 4+ years of direct people-management experience.
• Experience developing and leading learning initiatives for manufacturing sites, with measurable results and a strong operational excellence mindset.
• Knowledge of global industry regulations and compliance requirements, including FDA, USDA, and EU GMP.
• Fluent written and spoken English, with strong facilitation, coaching, collaboration, and leadership-training capabilities.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience in global, matrixed life sciences organizations and virtual team environments.
• Expertise in digital learning design, AI-powered learning solutions, performance analytics, LMS platforms, content-authoring tools, and multimedia learning.
• Knowledge of VR/AR, adaptive learning platforms, and adult learning theory.
