Financial Software Implementation Consultant (Sage ERP)

Location: South Africa; office-based in Cape Town or Durban, or remote from Gauteng with travel to the Cape Town office as needed

What you will do

• Complete structured training in financial software platforms, implementation methodology, and client delivery standards.
• Support and then independently own end-to-end ERP implementations, including discovery, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, training, go-live, and post-implementation support.
• Configure entities, charts of accounts, dimensions, reporting structures, workflows, approvals, and financial processes in Sage Intacct, Sage 300 Cloud, and related solutions.
• Translate accounting and finance requirements into practical system setups, workflow recommendations, reporting improvements, and internal controls.
• Lead client training, prepare documentation, communicate project status and risks, and resolve implementation issues with internal teams.
• Contribute to process improvement, knowledge sharing, service expansion, and delivery across global teams and time zones.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, outsourced accounting, advisory, audit, controlling, or financial operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience is also considered.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, internal controls, and business processes.
• Interest in transitioning into financial technology, ERP, or software implementation consulting.
• Strong communication, documentation, client service, analytical problem-solving, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work remotely from Gauteng or from the Cape Town or Durban office, with travel to the Cape Town office as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with Sage Intacct, Sage 300 Cloud, QuickBooks Online, Xero, FloQast, or similar financial systems.
• Exposure to ERP implementations, financial technology projects, system onboarding, or software training.
• Experience in outsourced accounting, client accounting advisory services, SaaS, professional services, or financial consulting.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, or multi-client accounting environments.
• Familiarity with Asana, Monday.com, or similar project tracking tools.
