TL;DR
Finance Director (Crypto) (European Regulated Finance): Leading the finance function for a regulated Malta entity and supporting OKX’s wider European business with an accent on statutory reporting, prudential obligations, regulatory engagement, and financial control. Focus on managing MiCA and other European financial-services regimes, building the Malta finance team, and shaping pricing, investment, and market-entry decisions through financial analysis.
Location: Sliema, Malta; the role is based in Malta and supports operations across multiple European jurisdictions.

What you will do
- Lead the finance function for the regulated Malta entity and support the wider European business.
- Own statutory, prudential, and regulatory reporting, including the accuracy of submissions to supervisory authorities.
- Represent finance in relationships with European regulators through supervision, information requests, examinations, and remediation.
- Manage capital adequacy, own funds, liquidity, safeguarding of customer funds, IFRS, local statutory reporting, audits, month-end close, and treasury.
- Lead finance workstreams for licence applications, authorisations, and expansion into additional European markets.
- Build and develop the Malta finance team while partnering with leadership, the board, auditors, and regulators on commercial and strategic decisions.
Requirements
- 15+ years of finance experience in European financial services, including significant senior finance leadership experience.
- Direct accountability for a regulated European entity, including statutory reporting, prudential submissions, and supervisory engagement.
- Experience with European regulators across authorisation, regulatory reporting, examinations, or remediation.
- Regulatory experience in at least two areas including MiCA and crypto-asset services, payment and electronic money institutions, MiFID investment services, or banking.
- Strong expertise in IFRS, local statutory reporting, consolidation, external audit, month-end close, planning, forecasting, unit economics, pricing, and scenario analysis.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with MFSA rules and Malta Tax Authority reporting requirements.
- Experience across multiple regulated business models, such as banking, payments, and investment services.
- Experience at a crypto exchange, payments institution, fintech organisation, or high-volume bank.
- Experience working across time zones and multicultural teams.
