Head of Outreach and Partnerships, Trust & Safety

Location: Washington, D.C.; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Base salary: $132,300–$316,800 annually, with potential additional bonuses or incentives and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Develop and manage a portfolio of external partnerships aligned with Trust & Safety priorities.
• Engage AI researchers, youth safety experts, academics, advocates, and industry groups on responsible AI, digital well-being, platform accountability, and content governance.
• Design and lead expert roundtables, advisory sessions, teach-ins, and consultations for senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Manage partner agreements, statements of work, onboarding, renewals, compliance reviews, payments, and risk assessments.
• Establish repeatable operating processes for intake, prioritization, approvals, deliverables, records, budgets, and partner communications.
• Measure partnership impact and provide updates on outcomes, risks, spending, and next steps.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in strategic partnerships, external affairs, public policy, program management, trust and safety, or a related field.
• Experience owning complex partner or vendor engagements from strategy and scoping through contracting, execution, payment, evaluation, and renewal or closeout.
• Working knowledge of statements of work, procurement, purchase orders, invoices, budget tracking, due diligence, records management, Legal, and Compliance coordination.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, youth digital safety, platform accountability, content governance, and data privacy.
• Ability to lead ambiguous cross-functional initiatives independently, identify risks, and influence decisions without formal authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus availability to travel periodically for stakeholder meetings, partner events, and conferences.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in public policy, law, technology governance, communications, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience with U.S.-based advocacy organizations, academic researchers, policy experts, or public-interest technology groups.
• Subject-matter expertise in youth mental health, digital literacy, child safety, responsible AI, algorithmic accountability, or related research.
