Site Reliability Engineer, TikTok Product

Location: Sydney, Australia; fully in-person, up to 5 days per week

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate large-scale, highly available systems with cross-functional teams.
• Develop automation tools and processes that improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Lead SRE initiatives and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues in collaboration with software engineers.
• Monitor system health, identify risks proactively, and drive infrastructure improvements through experimentation and research.
• Design and implement disaster recovery plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, or a similar role involving large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of containers and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• In-depth knowledge of Unix/Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and storage systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, or JavaScript.
