Senior Site Reliability Engineer (TikTok Product)

Location: Sydney, Australia; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate large-scale, highly available systems supporting video playback, content discovery, recommendations, live streaming, and customer service feedback.
• Develop automation tools and processes that improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor system health and proactively identify and resolve potential production issues.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents in collaboration with software engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Lead SRE initiatives, provide technical guidance, and mentor team members.
• Design and implement disaster recovery plans and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, or a similar role involving large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of containers and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• In-depth knowledge of Unix/Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and storage systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, or JavaScript.
