Vice President, Philanthropy – Ontario & Nunavut

Location: Remote; philanthropy leadership across Ontario and Nunavut

Salary: CAD 150,000–200,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead the development and execution of a regional philanthropy strategy aligned with organizational priorities and revenue targets.
• Manage a team, budgets, donor pipelines, moves management and cross-functional fundraising opportunities.
• Personally cultivate, solicit, recognize and steward high-capacity donors capable of making transformational gifts.
• Develop customized proposals and solicitation strategies with executives, researchers, clinicians, board members and volunteers.
• Advise and coach advisory board members and senior volunteers on donor engagement and fundraising activities.
• Oversee donor data, gift administration, stewardship plans and CRM updates.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of fundraising experience.
• Proven experience soliciting and closing gifts of CAD 500,000 or more.
• Executive presence and strong relationship-building, communication, analytical and collaboration skills.
• Experience with donor databases, prospect development, proposals, grants, letters and volunteer briefings.
• Ability to work strategically while maintaining detailed, accurate execution.
• Requires a car for occasional to frequent donor-meeting travel and availability for evening and weekend events as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience leading a major gift campaign.
• Experience recruiting, training and working with volunteers or fundraisers.
• CFRE designation and professional association involvement.
• Knowledge of AFP, CAGP and APRA codes of ethics, policies and procedures.
