What you will do
- Act as the civil engineering subject matter expert across utility-scale solar PV, wind, BESS, gas-peaking, and data centre projects.
- Provide technical leadership on earthworks, drainage, access roads, foundations, cable routes, and site infrastructure.
- Review and approve designs, drawings, calculations, reports, specifications, and other civil deliverables from EPCs, consultants, and contractors.
- Provide design assurance, constructability input, technical governance, and technical challenge throughout development, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Support construction sites through inspections, quality checks, issue resolution, punch-list close-out, as-built validation, and handover to Asset Management.
- Interface with EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, independent engineers, and lenders on technical due diligence and complex engineering issues.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of civil engineering experience in construction, infrastructure, energy, or renewable projects.
- Strong experience with utility-scale solar PV, wind, BESS, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Deep understanding of earthworks, drainage design, roads, foundations, underground services, site logistics, constructability, and ground engineering.
- Experience reviewing civil engineering drawings, designs, and technical documentation and critically assessing EPC and consultant outputs.
- Experience in construction-site environments and project delivery phases.
- Strong understanding of UK civil engineering standards, safety, and compliance requirements.
