Senior PHP Engineer (Symfony)

Location: Remote

Salary: 14,000–20,000 PLN/month on a B2B contract, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Build and scale enterprise web applications and API-first architectures.
• Turn incomplete client briefs into clear business and technical questions, project modules, technology choices, and realistic estimates.
• Improve performance, security, accessibility, testing, and overall code quality.
• Profile and optimize applications while integrating external systems, payment gateways, and APIs.
• Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, Frontend Developers, DevOps, and QA.
• Contribute to architecture, tooling, technical standards, and delivery workflows.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of commercial Backend/PHP experience.
• Strong knowledge of modern PHP 8.2+ and Symfony.
• Understanding of SOLID, Design Patterns, Clean Architecture, and the fundamentals of DDD/CQRS.
• Experience with caching, queues, asynchronous processing, message brokers, secure RESTful or GraphQL APIs, and performance optimization.
• Practical experience with testing, static analysis, code review, Git, and CI/CD.
• Fluent English and Polish at least B2 are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Sulu CMS, Laravel, or Laminas.
• Frontend experience with React, Next.js, Vue, or Nuxt.js.
• Experience with FrankenPHP, Swoole, or RoadRunner.
• Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Headless CMS, or Composable Commerce experience.
