Senior PHP Developer (Fintech)

Location: Remote, with the role listed in Vilnius, Lithuania

Salary: €5,500–€7,000 gross per month

What you will do

• Design, develop, and scale backend systems for a fintech product using PHP 8.x with Laravel or Symfony.
• Architect secure, robust solutions and contribute to technical and architectural decisions.
• Build and maintain versioned REST APIs with backward compatibility.
• Optimize MySQL or MariaDB performance through query tuning, schema design, and migrations.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, Docker-based environments, testing strategies, monitoring, and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior and mid-level developers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience and 5+ years with Laravel or Symfony.
• Expert knowledge of PHP 8.x, REST API design, MySQL or MariaDB, Composer, Git, and Linux/CLI environments.
• Experience with PHPUnit, unit and integration testing, Docker, containerized production environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of caching, performance optimization, secure authentication, OWASP, and web application security.
• Ability to independently architect solutions, challenge requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and lead initiatives.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or financial services.
• Frontend development with Vue or React.
• Experience with Azure, technical interviewing, or hiring.
