Italy R&D Specialties Design & Cost Engineer (Energy Cables)

Location: Merlino, Italy; remote work flexibility is available.

Gross annual salary: €39,000 or more, plus an individual or collective variable incentive.

What you will do

• Design electrical cables, selecting materials and defining performance according to customer requirements and applicable technical standards.
• Generate bills of material, manufacturing routings, cost lists, and project rules using Common Analysis or SAP.
• Prepare customer offers and technical data packs, including datasheets, technical bid evaluations, and deviations, for the Sales department.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Materials teams on new products and prototype designs.
• Support manufacturing product transfers between plants and implement factory-specific process changes.
• Perform basic electrical calculations, support technical bid evaluations, and visit customers to understand application and market needs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical, Electrotechnical, or Electronic Engineering is preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in an industrial business, preferably in electrical design, process engineering, production engineering, continuous improvement, or product development.
• Basic knowledge of production processes and polymeric and metallic materials.
• Analytical, structured, methodical, and reliable approach, with the ability to work independently in a complex matrix organization.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to handle pressure.
• Fluent Italian and English, spoken and written.

• Previous experience in the cable-making industry.
