Working Student Web Crawling & Data Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

What you will do

• Maintain and improve the existing web crawling stack, mainly using Ruby and JavaScript.
• Analyze new data sources and assess acquisition options and coverage quality.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines for acquisition, validation, internal mapping, and classification.
• Automate and orchestrate crawling and data-processing workflows to improve scalability and robustness.
• Integrate external data sources through APIs and controlled crawling frameworks.
• Monitor pipeline behavior, identify anomalies, and collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Munich in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Media Informatics, or a related field.
• Availability for at least 10 months, working 15–20 hours per week.
• Programming skills in Ruby and/or JavaScript.
• Strong interest in web crawling, data extraction, automation, and API integrations.
• Excellent command of English and strong communication skills for collaboration in an international team.
• Proactive, independent working style and ability to manage complex tasks with minimal supervision.
