TL;DR
Chief Technology Officer (CTO, GameTech): Shaping technology strategy and leading game backend systems, shared GameTech services, infrastructure, and internal platforms with an accent on distributed systems, cloud reliability, and engineering standards. Location: Office-based role with full-time working hours from 09:00 to 18:00; operates studios in Riga, Latvia, and Vilnius, Lithuania.
Salary: €2,500–€4,500 gross per month, depending on experience.

What you will do
- Define company-wide technology strategy, architecture, and technical roadmaps.
- Lead development of game backend systems, shared GameTech services, and internal platforms.
- Own user acquisition technology, advertising integrations, and creative management systems.
- Ensure infrastructure reliability, security, observability, and cost efficiency across AWS and Google Cloud.
- Establish engineering standards for development, testing, releases, documentation, monitoring, and incident management.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and own complex technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a CTO, Head or VP of Engineering, Principal Engineer, or Technical Director.
- Strong hands-on backend development and distributed systems architecture experience.
- Solid Golang expertise and practical experience with AWS, containers, databases, message queues, and caching systems.
- Strong understanding of security, IAM, observability, incident management, and disaster recovery.
- Experience leading engineering teams and aligning technical work with business priorities.
- Hands-on mindset with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions and personally solve complex technical problems.
Nice to have
- Experience in mobile gaming or live-service products.
- Familiarity with Nakama, Laravel, React, Vue, Node, and Google Cloud.
- Experience with IAM, multi-tenant systems, advertising integrations, shared platforms, and infrastructure.
