HSQE & Vetting Superintendent (Maritime): Maintaining and improving the health, safety, quality, environmental and energy management system across a fleet of eco tanker vessels with an accent on audits, regulatory compliance, incident investigation and corrective actions. Focus on preparing vessels for SIRE 2.0 and other inspections, analysing HSQE trends, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a proactive safety culture across shore-based and onboard teams.
Location: Piraeus, Attica, Greece. Workplace: On-site. The role includes travel and vessel visits as required.

What you will do
- Monitor compliance with the HSQE Management System, international regulations and maritime industry best practices across the tanker fleet.
- Conduct onboard internal audits, inspections and reviews, and coordinate internal and external audits through the closure of findings and non-conformities.
- Prepare vessels for SIRE 2.0, Port State Control, Flag State, Class and other inspections.
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, perform root-cause analysis, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Support risk assessments, Management of Change processes, emergency preparedness and operational hazard mitigation.
- Analyse HSQE KPIs, trends and reports while promoting safety communications, crew awareness and continuous improvement across shore-based and onboard teams.
Requirements
- Ship Captain’s license for unrestricted service on tanker vessels or a university degree recognized by the relevant state and national authorities.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar HSQE position within a tanker shipping company.
- Knowledge of ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, SIRE 2.0, TMSA and MLC requirements.
- Experience conducting internal or navigational audits, with the ability to analyse HSQE data, trends and performance indicators.
- Fluent written and spoken English is required.
- Good computer literacy, strong analytical and communication skills, and willingness to travel for vessel visits.

- Postgraduate studies in a relevant field.
- Experience with incident investigation, root-cause analysis and risk assessment.
