Cloud Engineer (AWS & Azure)

Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, with hybrid working available

Salary: AUD 170,000–180,000 per annum plus superannuation

What you will do

• Design, implement and support secure, resilient infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Manage cloud networking across VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, DNS and private connectivity.
• Support VPNs, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute and hybrid network environments.
• Configure enterprise firewalls and cloud-native security controls, including Palo Alto, security groups, NACLs and NSGs.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code with AWS CDK and TypeScript, and contribute to cloud migrations and platform modernisation.
• Support CI/CD, monitoring, vulnerability remediation and complex infrastructure troubleshooting while collaborating with teams across APAC, Europe and the Americas.

Requirements

• Five or more years of commercial cloud or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or multi-cloud environments.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud networking, including VPCs, VNets, DNS, subnets, routing and private connectivity.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls, cloud security controls and infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation or Bicep.
• Experience supporting CI/CD platforms and scripting with Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder-management skills, plus a relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Palo Alto firewall experience and strong AWS CDK and TypeScript capability.
• Hybrid-cloud or multi-cloud project delivery experience.
• Knowledge of zero-trust architecture, network segmentation and private networking.
• AWS Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Experience with CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus and related observability tools.
