TL;DR
Training Developer Editor & Quality Reviewer (Technical Writing/Defence Training): Reviewing and assuring the quality of training materials, technical publications, policies, procedures, and reports for Defence capability programs with an accent on accuracy, consistency, language hygiene, and content integrity. Focus on establishing editorial standards, identifying grammatical and structural errors, and coaching teams on technical writing and documentation quality.
Location: Homebush, NSW, Australia; hybrid or onsite with 3 days per week in the office. Some domestic and international travel may be required.

What you will do
- Review and edit training materials, technical reports, policies, procedures, and customer deliverables.
- Act as the final quality gate before customer delivery.
- Develop templates, style guides, and writing standards to improve documentation consistency.
- Provide quality assurance oversight for courseware and technical publications.
- Prepare lessons-learned summaries and writing best-practice guidance.
- Coach and mentor team members on technical writing, English usage, and documentation standards.
Requirements
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) and Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (TAE50122).
- At least 5 years of experience in training development, including experience in a military aviation or naval platform environment.
- Understanding of ADF training policies and procedures, including SADL.
- Experience with learning content management systems and authoring tools; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong technical writing, editing, communication, attention-to-detail, judgement, and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required Australian Defence Security Clearance and work at the Homebush, NSW site in a hybrid or onsite capacity.

- Experience establishing editorial governance frameworks and style guides.
- Experience as a quality assurance lead on Defence training projects.
- Advanced technical editing or professional writing qualifications.
- Experience supporting large-scale Defence training transformation programs.
