TL;DR
Software Engineer, Mobile (iOS) (Swift/AI): Building iOS features for the Grab driver app, including communication experiences, AI-assisted workflows, and offline-first screens with an accent on reliability under unstable network conditions. Focus on integrating mobile applications with backend APIs, designing resilient offline behavior, and validating performance through testing.
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia; fully onsite at the Jakarta office

What you will do
- Develop iOS features in Swift for driver communication, AI-assisted workflows, and offline-first screens.
- Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs, backend services, and mobile platform components.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, data analysts, and mobile engineers.
- Write testable code, participate in code reviews, and follow engineering standards.
- Debug app performance, reliability, and offline behavior issues.
- Contribute to product stability through unit testing, integration testing, and release validation.
Requirements
- Up to 2 years of professional iOS development experience, or relevant internship or project experience.
- Working knowledge of Swift and the iOS SDK.
- Understanding of MVC, MVVM, VIPER, or similar mobile architecture patterns.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs or backend services.
- Experience with unit or integration testing for iOS applications and AI agent-assisted coding or spec-driven development workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience with offline-capable or network-resilient mobile features.
- Familiarity with Core Data, SQLite, Realm, CI/CD, mobile observability, or modular mobile architectures.
- Exposure to UI testing, automated testing, GraphQL, WebSocket, gRPC, or real-time communication.
- Interest in AI, LLM-powered applications, chatbots, or conversational products.
- Experience working in cross-functional or regional teams.
