TL;DR
Accountant - Fund Services (Financial Services): Managing client portfolios and preparing complex financial statements, management accounts, reconciliations, and VAT returns with an accent on IFRS or UK GAAP compliance, fund structures, and audit coordination. Location: Moka, Mauritius; hybrid working with specifics confirmed during the interview process

What you will do

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and deliver accurate accounting services within agreed deadlines.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, reconciliations, accounting records, VAT returns, and supporting schedules.
  • Act as a key client contact and provide responsive support throughout engagements.
  • Coordinate with managers, assistant managers, auditors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical matters and complete audits.
  • Review work, maintain high-quality documentation, identify risks, and support process improvements.
  • Coach junior colleagues and provide technical guidance within a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • ACCA or ACA qualification, a first degree in accounting, or equivalent relevant finance and accounting experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience preparing client accounts in financial services, accounting, or audit.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
  • Experience or exposure to real estate and private equity structures; real estate accounting experience is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, communication, relationship-building, and deadline-management skills.
  • Ability to support and develop junior colleagues with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.

Nice to have

  • Experience with EFront and Value Financials.
  • Additional experience in real estate accounting.
