What you will do

• Lead and coordinate the New Zealand Project Management team and translate global PMO priorities into local objectives.
• Coach, develop, and support a Junior Project Manager while building a strong project management culture.
• Maintain an integrated view of the New Zealand project portfolio, including risks, milestones, interdependencies, and resource requirements.
• Lead portfolio and resource reviews, workforce planning, project assignments, and succession activities.
• Drive strategic, cross-functional, and international projects from scope and schedule through quality, risk, and stakeholder alignment.
• Partner with R&D teams to bring new products and technologies to market and represent the New Zealand portfolio within the global PMO.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional projects in an international environment.
• Previous people leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and managing project professionals.
• Strong understanding of project governance, portfolio management, and resource planning.
• Ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, align cross-functional teams, and make sound decisions independently.
• Degree in a relevant discipline, such as BSc, MSc, MBA, or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel up to 30 days per year and work across time zones.

Nice to have

• Recognized project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
• Experience with new product development or product lifecycle projects in high-tech or automation environments.
