Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: Newcastle, United Kingdom; hybrid working with typically two days per week onsite at Q8 Building, Quorum Business Park, Longbenton

Salary: £38,000–£57,000 per year, depending on experience, plus annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Create, maintain, and continuously improve predictive models for the claims department.
• Apply data science techniques to model customer behaviour and support better decision-making.
• Use analytics and insight to improve customer journeys and business outcomes.
• Help control costs through data-driven claims improvements.
• Follow the data governance framework and help keep data safe.

Requirements

• Experience using Microsoft Fabric or Databricks to create and maintain AI/ML models.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage workload and reprioritise when required.
• Excellent communication skills for sharing insights with technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, banking, or another regulated commercial environment.
