TL;DR
Sr. Support Engineer, SAP FICO (SAP): Providing hands-on troubleshooting and client-facing support for complex, highly customized SAP production environments with an accent on Controlling, Product Costing, Material Ledger, and cross-module financial processes. Focus on root cause analysis, resolving month-end close and costing issues, developing application fixes, and supporting global customers in a 24x7 SLA-driven model.

Location: 100% remote from Mexico

What you will do

  • Provide expert-level SAP FICO support focused on Controlling, Product Costing, Material Ledger, cost center and profit center accounting, and CO-PA.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues involving month-end close, costing variances, settlement processes, and FI, MM, SD, and PS integrations.
  • Perform root cause analysis in highly customized SAP environments and develop application fixes and data corrections.
  • Support SAP Project Systems, including WBS structures and project cost integration.
  • Work directly with clients to diagnose issues, explain solutions, and deliver high-quality support.
  • Collaborate with ABAP and integration teams while supporting global customers in a 24x7 model and meeting SLAs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of SAP experience with a strong focus on FICO and Controlling.
  • Mandatory hands-on expertise in Product Costing (CO-PC) and Material Ledger.
  • Strong knowledge of standard SAP FI operations, including GL, AP, and AR, and CO-FI integration.
  • Experience with month-end close issues, costing variances, settlement processes, SAP Project Systems configuration, and production support.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, root cause analysis, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a global virtual team environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Exposure to FSCM, Treasury, and Asset Accounting.
  • ABAP debugging or strong collaboration with development teams.
  • Experience in global or multi-country SAP environments.
