Art Director, Motion

Location: New York, NY, United States; on-site four days per week

Base pay: $105,000–$140,000 annually

What you will do

• Run motion and video projects from creative brief through final delivery.
• Develop concepts, storyboards, style frames, 2D animation, motion graphics, titles, and design-led video.
• Edit footage, including pacing, color, sound, music, and adaptations for different formats.
• Shoot footage when needed and guide external animation partners.
• Build motion guidelines and After Effects toolkits covering timing, transitions, typography, sound, file standards, accessibility, and licensing.
• Present work, collaborate with marketing and performance teams, and use creative testing to improve future work.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in motion design and video.
• A strong reel demonstrating work carried from concept to completion.
• Deep expertise in After Effects and Premiere, plus strong Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma skills.
• Strong understanding of typography, composition, color, pacing, and design fundamentals.
• Ability to present work, develop multiple creative options, shoot footage, and edit it effectively.
• Ability to work on-site in New York City four days per week.

Nice to have

• B2B experience, particularly in real estate, hospitality, or professional services.
• Experience versioning work for different markets and languages.
• 3D or compositing experience.
