Software Engineer, Mobile (React Native)

Location: Greater Salt Lake City metro and Wasatch Front, Utah; candidates must be located in this area.

What you will do

• Build and ship features for iOS and Android mobile apps using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript.
• Develop mobile experiences involving native screens, authentication, biometrics, QR-code deep links, WebView browsing, locked devices, shared devices, and unreliable connectivity.
• Own push-notification reliability, device registration, delivery monitoring, and collaboration with backend engineers on alerting services.
• Run app-store builds, staged rollouts, over-the-air updates, compatibility management, CI pipelines, and post-release monitoring.
• Extend automated verification tooling for simulators, emulators, physical devices, and AI-assisted coding agents.
• Use analytics, crash data, customer calls, and pilot rollouts to investigate issues and prioritize production fixes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping a production mobile or frontend application.
• Strong TypeScript and working knowledge of React Native or React.
• Experience releasing applications through the Apple App Store and Google Play, including staged rollouts and post-release monitoring.
• Ability to work with Python web backends and read unfamiliar code.
• Experience taking ambiguous reports through investigation to a confirmed production fix.
• Clear written communication in an asynchronous, distributed team; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with device automation, end-to-end testing frameworks, or agentic coding tools.
• Experience with push notifications, hybrid WebView apps, authentication flows, or observability tools such as Sentry.
• Background in manufacturing, industrial software, or frontline workforce technology.
